About Us
Garthside is a small farm and a very special place set in a naturally beautiful and incredibly historic landscape within close proximity to the Unesco World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall. We are approximately 150m from Hadrian’s Wall Path and within easy walking distance of Lanercost Priory.
Spectacular views surround the farmstead with the North Pennine Fells to the south and the Northern Lake District Fells to the south west. We have embarked on a project to enhance the natural environment at Garthside with the planting of trees, hedgerows and a wildflower meadow. We often enjoy the sight of Roe deer and other wildlife and are always thrilled by the abundant bird life.
Our accommodation is inspired by this magnificent landscape in an unspoilt part of Cumbria. We hope that you will be be inspired to come and visit Garthside, connect with nature, discover the history and enjoy this wonderful place that we are fortunate to call our home.
